Moving along with my dome home.

This is how I am handling the issues with gardening out here. Two main issues are these desert winds and the desert rodents. First part of the stack goes 12" into the ground to try and keep rodents out. The each section is 24" high, I stack them up as needed.

I have the base of the dome laid out on the pony wall. The hubs, which are the vertices of the triangles, are made of schedule 40, high pressure pvc.

Building my new home, it's going to be a 15 ft 4v ( 4 frequency ) geodesic dome. This is a two ft pony wall that the dome will rest on. Now I will get started on the dome! 🤠

This is the sub-flooring for what will be my home. The subfloor is 16 × 16. I am going to build a 15 ft diameter dome, frequency of 4. It will be on a 2 ft pony wall to get head room inside around the perimeter. Once this is finished and I am residing in it....

Current state of the 8 ft dome, I added an 8 x 8 deck on the front, I screened the 4ft pony walI, I added the removeable panels for wind, Ibam now working on getting it covered "roof."

I read about geodesic domes and how strong they are structurally, excellent for high wind areas. So, I started with a small one to get an understanding on the design, angles and strut lengths. This is an 8 ft diameter dome with a frequency of 2, on a 4 ft pony wall.

I had to drop the Kodiac for this storm, wind gusts were hitting over 80 mph.

I added the pony walls for added stability. Works, handles the "vientos del diablo". This has been my home for the past 2 years. I call it my box. I currently live in a box. 🤠

So, I added these tie downs, helped keep it up right, but shook a lot during a wind storm. VIENTOS DEL DIABLO!

After a wind storm ripped my Kodiac canvas tent, a friend offered this old beat up truck camper. I graciously accepted and next wind storm, this happened.
