I’m still Slot In, just. Patterns of play are improving, and were there to see today. We were actually pretty dominant, but undone by ridiculous refusals to shoot, and unspeakable errors to goals. That result is so hard to stomach, and will deflate all the confidence we were building.

He should have been sacked in November. He is the one responsible for this. Consistent poor play since August and he has no answers, no solutions. Countless players having subpar seasons is a reflection on the manager. Tremendously underperforming the degree of talent on this team. It's on him.

His style reminds me of Roy Evans. Meaning the focus is on keeping & recycling the ball, often at the expense of creating chances & scoring goals. Like Roy’s team, this squad has a lot of talent but is underperforming. The managers job is to get the best out of his players & Arne isn’t doing that.

I don’t think that Slot will keep his job in the summer regardless of UCL qualification. The underlying numbers are still bad.

don't think he's ever quite worked out how to harness/ use the fans. houllier, rafa and klopp were masters at it. he isn't and that isn't a criticism, it's just the way he is. last season was amazing and memorable but this season is just not good enough. i think only winning the big one saves him.

Aug-Jan last season was a combo of a tight, solid squad (no one new settling in); the energy of Klopp’s positive sendoff + Arne’s new voice; tactical tweaks (Gravenberch) but mostly a known system; City’s collapse; Virgil, Trent, Mo on fire. The post-Klopp era only really began this summer.

He is an elite football managers. Only 3 active football managers have won the premier league in the last 10 years. He has had to manage the most difficult situation in top flight football since the premier leagues inception. You don’t become a bad manager overnight.

You cannot tell me the teams we've fielded haven't been good enough to beat the likes of Burnley etc because im sorry I just don't believe it. None of this factors in the squad mismanagement or the barmy substitutions or the tedious football that enables every opposing team to feel comfortable

Sacking Slot is the kind of knee-jerk thing Chelsea and Real Madrid would do. He has three things to figure out: 1. Creating a cohesive defense with the new FBs & their offensive focus 2. Syncing the front 3 to create more opportunities 3 Defending against set plays and long throws.
