Excellent beers in Chester yesterday. Three Tuns Solstice and Charter in Old Harker's Arms. Castle Rock Harvest Pale and Silent Brew Greater Good Bitter in Cavern of the Curious Gnome. Both really good, but the Bitter was top class. I was very tempted by Kwaremont and St Bernardus Prior on draught.

I had a few in the Feathers Hotel last night, which a traditional, large, plush establishment. More Ledbury Bitter and their small batch Cluster Pale Ale.

I've finished a hectic but very enjoyable four days at Cheltenham. I was based in a very expensive restaurant with a number of minor celebrities present. I've had more Ledbury Bitter and Wye Valley beers in the last few days, but now trying a Butcombe Gold.

I'm working at the Cheltenham Festival this week and staying in Ledbury. Ledbury Bitter in the Prince of Wales seemed the obvious choice. A proper bitter in a wonderful old pub.

Arrived in Newport. I'm in Ye Olde Murenger House, which is a Sam Smith's pub and phones are allowed 😳

More great beer. Butty Bach in The Cottage.

Staying in Cardiff tonight - Rovers away at Newport. Brain's Dark and Bitter are both excellent in Old Arcade.

Back in city centre at Bernie's on 't Zand. They have been closed all week otherwise I would have visited previously. Circus Winter Ale is a great beer.

First beers today in Tafel en Toog. Started lowish gravity with draught Blonden Os.

I'm now in the Halve Maan Brewery. The unfiltered beers, which are only available here, are far superior to those on sale everywhere else.

A few house beers in De Garre, followed by a very good Gouden Carolus Ambrio.

A sublime draught St. Bernardus Abt 12 in 't Brugs Beertje last night.

Arrived in Brugge and headed straight to De Garre, of course.

I've popped into Le Lombard for one. A very generous pour of draught Chimay Brune. Strange to say, but I'm not sure if I've ever drunk this on draught.

Another old favourite is Witkap Pater Tripel. Nice updated glass and lbel.

Next up is the classic Poechenellekelder. A couple of amber beers accompanied by a massive Lasagne. Franc Belge is one of many great beers from De Ranke. V Cense from Brasserie de Jandrain-Jandrenouille is a beer that I've always liked. I've not seen it for a few years but it is still excellent.

I've arrived in Brussels. Started in the classic La Fleur en Papier Doré. First beer is locally brewed Stouterik on draught.

A vibrant atmosphere at the Halliwell Jones tonight for Wire v Saints. A record crowd for the stadium.

I'm now in the classic, old school Lower Angel. Wire Bitter is great, but ironically, it's brewed in Wigan.

I haven't drunk in Warrington for a while. Started in Costello's with two very good beers from Dunham Massey: Dark (mild) and Hop Tree.

Anyone else noticed the massive amount of dead worms on the pavements? I presume it's due to the lack of oxygen in the waterlogged ground. They manage to wriggle on to the pavements before expiring.

Enfant Terrible D'Hiver Whiskey Infused on Oak. Pleasant enough blonde beer, but scant evidence of the whiskey or oak. Thanks to @bonsvoeux1.bsky.social for this.

Five years old Orval. Amazing how this beer retains carbonation. Excellent.

Back over the water to the Collaboration. Brimstage Sandpiper is a decent light ale, but not in the class of Trapper's Hat/Rhode Island Red/Sandpiper.

The Olde Cottage has the exceptional Trapper's Hat on draught. I'll forgive them for the wrong glass.

Golden Eagle in Marylebone is a very comfortable pub. Vale Brewery 80/- is excellent.

I'm in that Lodon for footy. Started at King Charles I, Kings Cross with Firebrand Brewery Shipwreck Coast and Settle Brewey Ribblehead Bitter. A fine little pub with excellent quality beers.

Any number of great pubs in Cambridge. Also visited Geldart, Cambridge Blue (twice) and Devonshire Arms again.
