Reminder that the new Live2D 5.3 features are still NOT compatible with VTS and likely will not be for a while yet (like... several more months minimum probably). You can still use the new editor features and QoL stuff so long as you make sure you're still using the 5.0 SDK. #Live2D

There's one Live2D feature that I wish would get used often: Custom Events. Imagine a trigger at specific time of animation. You can have it play sounds, set post visual effects or even change OBS scenes. This feature is supported by VTS API, but few mainstream plugins is taking advantage of it

you can add perspective to a flat image pretty easily by using a perspective transform and then adding a vanishing point. then, simply move features along the vanishing point lines and add whatever is needed to maintain the form and look right

Been a Live2D rigger for a few years now and I’m curious how others handle this. How do you usually handle PSDs that aren’t Live2D ready? Fix it yourself and adjust price/ETA, or work with someone else to further prepare the PSD for Live2D? Art by @pairidaez67

I've been using Affinity on and off since v1.0. I love how they managed to combine all app into a single package now. The pages were made in Adobe Express, exported as PDF to Affinity. I used Layout mode to switch between pages, Vector mode to edit the text, and Pixel mode to draw over the images.

i really want to love my touch wacom display but man touch input on mac sucks ass. cant believe windows is better on that front

It feels nice when an old client pre-2020 get back to me asking if I still have their model files. I always do, in fact I still host my first commissioned models... those are Live2D 2.0 files, they weigh almost nothing compared to today standard

Do people actually watch Live2D showcases? Like the whole thing? I know some people do for learning, but if you are a regular customer looking to comms someone do you still watch them fully? If you do, what do you want to see and how long they should ideally be?

New Live2D 5.3 QoL updates: For the glue addicts, there's a new "hardness" property to set glue brush radius similar to deform brush! Also you can set weight display opacity

Trying to apply one-size-fits-all solutions in Live2D is a bit of a pitfall and will probably hinder you in the long run. What works for one model may not work for another and if you can't adapt then you're probably going to have a bad time.

Live2D 5.3 Beta is now live and they are adding new features that weren't present in alpha test! - New deform brush modes (fisheye deform made easier) - Automatically fix warp thats too small for its child objects - WebM export aka transparent video!

I got passed down a Live2D project. 6 outfits in 1 model, 16K atlas, 11 PSD files, all parameter IDs are unnamed... I cleaned it all up and the file size is reduced by 90%. Good optimization practices needs to be talked more, I applaud anyone who can push themselves working like this 😭
