I am being kind to myself and refusing to watch the Sixers get destroyed again. If they win, great. I can watch the highlights. If they lose (likely), I’ll save myself an evening of time.

It’s just awful that the NBA playoffs are not watchable if you can’t afford multiple streaming services.

Good on the Magic for rebounding from their late skid to put together back to back awesome outings. Dunno if it’s sustainable but they had a better shot to give either Detroit a better series by nature of having more size and athleticism. Paolo took all that criticism and came back well.

Mazulla just called out a play and they ran it to perfection. Imagine having a coach that is actually additive.

Maxey isn’t the same player with his pinky jacked up. Like his shot diet has gotten worse and his inability to shoot off the dribble has made it easier to guard him. Celtics centers are just playing drop, rightfully so.

Grimes has been awful. Not sure what contract his agent expects this off season.

He made no rotation changes coming out of a timeout. What a horrendous coach. Like wtf does he do?

From a coaching perspective, I’m not sure what the point of smaller rotations when you’re losing by this much either. Like they have to expend so much effort on defense to get back into the game. They have to get fresh legs in there.

I mean, this is kind of the limitation of Oubre being the release valve. If he’s on, it’s great! If he’s not, it’s this.

It’s funny because Boston isn’t even shooting well beyond the arc. They’re just defending horribly and can’t make shots.

Like, just concede the loss partially and try to figure out how to beat what Boston is doing defensively and try to come up with a counter against their offense with the rest of your roster.

Very unlikely to change the outcome, but biggest thing I'd like to see in the second half: way more VJ Edgecombe on-ball reps. He hasn't been involved nearly enough and you need to get Tyrese Maxey off the ball.

Maxey has been pretty bad. A lot of these live ball TOs are due to his bad decisions. I’d go Barlow/Walker in the 2nd half. What benefit are you getting from Drummond/Bona?

Missing wide open 3s are brutal. I expect VJ to get better at this over the off season.

Well, Sixers fans had a whole season of seeing this. Maybe Nurse getting pants’d for four straight games will actually give impetus for his firing because only shame/embarrassment speaks to the ownership group.

It took forever for the Eagles to break their curse of never winning a Super Bowl. I guess I have a chance as a senior citizen that the Sixers will be a team of consequence in the post season.

The entire Embiid era is summarized by the fact that the front office and coaching staff will get a pass for this game because “What can you expect with Embiid out” while sidestepping that there’s no excuse for a team to look this dysfunctional and lifeless without one player.

It works on teams (like the Sixers) who don’t have a good offensive system or players that can collapse a defense/consistently shoot well beyond the arc.

Imagine having to keep closing out/recover every defensive possession. Just not a sustainable defense and it bleeds into the offense when guys are exhausted.

Zone against a good three point shooting team seems dumb.

And I’m not really mad or upset by it. This was how it was going to go. It just sucks that Nurse probably isn’t going anywhere when I think he’s part of the problem.

Just bad offensive process against a great defense. This is going to be a series where they get swept handily. I do think, injured as they are, there is still too much talent for them to look this bad, as often as they do.

Anytime there’s a 50-50 ball out of bounds it’s gone to Boston.

Sixers lack of off ball movement is as much a coaching failure as it is a talent/instinctive issue.

To be honest, Nurse should have gone to this more, for situations like this. Him and Walker at the 4 really isn’t that much of an offensive drop off but you can play switch heavy junk defense more than with Drummond and Bad Bona.
