Dragonslayer: The Legend of Heroes actually lived up to its name, which I somehow wasn't expecting. This game was mostly mediocre with some bright spots. If you're not grinding on the world map, you're chasing event flags to solve puzzles. Not a lot of dungeons to crawl through. #blutoid

Popful Mail is some good shit. It's a goofy and casual (if you patch out the Working Designs fuckery) romp with a godly presentation. Doesn't feel like much of a Falcom game, but maybe that's why they wanted to remake it into a Sonic game. Could have done without the slurs, though. #blutoid

To cap off my let's play of Sweet Home, I decided to produce a commentary track for the film the game is based on. The movie is still up on Youtube (linked in the description), so this is an easy watch and my dumb jokes only makes it better(?). #blutoid

Turns out Vampire Surivors gets much easier when you bother locating the upgrade menu. But what a powerful piece of art! I stayed up to 3 AM playing and I see the game as soon as I close my eyes. They really cracked the code of how to sear something onto your brain. #blutoid

Friend came over to test my Switch 2 and we tried a bit of DM3 in co-op and that was awesome. ...but then I bought Vampire Survivors because it was on sale and has co-op and now I am ears deep into this vile software and can't get out. #blutoid

Super Lucky's Tale was wonderful! I have prodded at multiple retro-revival 3d platformers, but this one really nailed it. They have enough scope for a satisfying set of levels, good controls and some fun characters. It echoes a bunch of other platformers, but remains it's own thing. #blutoid

Since I did A Bug's Life, my pal took the reigns on playing through the awesome modern fan port of Bugdom. What we soon realized was that we got off easy only ever playing the start as children, those last few levels are evil. But I can't deny that the whole game has a good vibe. #blutoid

I'm usually not one to use other games to beat on Square Enix, but if Ys VS Trails of all things can get a lovingly done remaster with new voice acting and netcode, what the hell is Dissidia's excuse? Not that this was perfect since Limited Run delayed it two months, but still! #blutoid

It makes me happy that we have the technology to easily load custom CDs into Vib-Ribbon. A friend piped RuneScape and Trails Through Daybreak music into it and that was just a delightful watch. #blutoid

Trails Beyond the Horizon was one hell of an experiece. 115 hours of build-up to a singular moment they have teased for multiple games now where they drive a proverbial wedge into the lid that has kept the actual plot of the series sealed away for 13 games. It was pretty rad. #blutoid

I played through more Switch demos, so I'm gonna post some impressions below! 🧵 I've come to the conclusion that Joycons feel much better when detached. Still not great, but better. Think I'll stick to the Pro Controller for anything with camera control. #blutoid

Decided to close a chapter of my childhood by playing through A Bug's Life 100%. Only ever had the demo before, so I never figured out the depths of the seed puzzles, there is some clever stuff in here. But god damn does the game make you work for those extra movie clips. #blutoid

Starfield schmarfield, the actually noteworthy Xbox game to land on PS5 this spring is New Super Lucky's Tale. I've been aware of this for while, but only now after playing the demo of the old version can I actually appreciate it. What a delighful 3d platformer. #blutoid

Friend decided to replay his childhood RPG, Growlanser: Heritage of War, so I got to watch it streamed. Very dry and bloated game, with some interesting spots here and there. It's got tons of voice-acting and and an unique RTS spin to the combat, but I can't see myself ever playing it. #blutoid

Decided to pick up the Horizon Forbidden West cookbook as well to complement my Ys 8 one. Framing it as the journal of an Oseram cook learning about the cultures of the tribes was a great idea. Starting to think themed cookbooks is just the best kind of gaming paraphernalia. #blutoid

Moving on from Ys 1 & 2, my next video project is another shortform JRPG from the late 1980s. Many would reduce Sweet Home to mere trivia, but I find it a pretty outstanding game in its own right. Where else can you find dogs with an elemental weakness to mallets? #blutoid

The last post made me realize how much I love my PSP, so I managed to give Duodecim Prologus and the Locoroco holiday demos a whirl. The battery is shot, but I CAN play carefully with the cable. It's amazing how light it is now, but it still gives me hand cramps sadly, so I have to let go #blutoid

The Tower of Sysiphus was good fun. Runs are shorter, so you get good guns faster and spend less time on traversal. Not much variety though, but it is a score attack mode. And yet again, I see what the story wants to do, but there's just something missing to make it stick. #Blutoid

I'm a bit mixed on Returnal. The core gameplay is like an awesome continuation of Rift Apart, but the story just doesn't hit and needing to backtrack and collect randomized doodads for the true ending sucked shit. Gonna hit up the DLC tower see what it has to offer. #Blutoid
