The use of marimba throughout the HnK ost is so inspired. It fits so well with the gems and the style of the school building. That's why whenever I listen to something by Steve Reich it immediately reminds me of HnK.

I'll post my impressions later but, so far, See you tomorrow at the Food Court is my favorite this season, I vibed so hard with it. The ep flowed so effortlessly, the contrasting voices and deliveries give the meaningless conversations a lot of motion. I was engaged form beginning to end.

Back when I read Takopi, I thought it was just edgy misery porn that made me emotionally detach form every character. Also, the ending left me with nothing. That being said, the anime looks quite good, maybe I'll give it another chance

Being playing the new Stellaris patch and I kinda dig it (except for the trade value). I do feel that the production is scaled way up tho, I'm stomping the AI's quite hard. The Consciousness prevails

Apocalypse Hotel ep 12. There's nothing actually grand nor even a sense of finality in this ep and I think that's great. A little disappointed humans are still around but it is for a very satisfying reason...

Thoughts on anime spring 2025

I like that hibimeshi has these long segments that is clear they're not going to be the "main thing" but, who cares? They're funny

There's this scene in Landscape in the Mist where a hand from an ancient statue appears in the sea and then a helicopter comes to drag it away as the protagonists watch. I don't know what the hell was going on with that but I think of it constantly

Okay sirens won't sing for you chapter 20 reignited my interest in the series. I like the implication that Towa's mother found someone she likes but it wasn't "animanga true eternal love".

Aru Majo ep 20. My problems with Faust hit harder here. You'd expect this would be the ep where she sits down with Meg and explain something to her but no, she remains vague and aloof.

Apocalypse Hotel Ep 11 My favorite so far. Lightly framed by the need to replace a faulty component, it shows a contemplation of Gingarou's journey and humanity's remains.

Being catching up with Kowloon and despite the worries of the pacing I've found to be a completely coherent story so far so no complaints there. Prob the only aspect jumping out is Reiko's and Yomei's friendship. The show treats it a a very long standing thing but it feels quite quick in practice

Honestly, I loved this week's Food for the Soul ep. It was simply delightful. The joke of Nana and Tsustuji cooking really got me. But more importantly, this ep went full force with the memories theme that, besides food, is the driving force of the show.

Apocalypse Hotel ep 10 gave me the same feeling as ep 8. they really flew past me even if I didn't want them to, feeling like I missed a lot. They are so unhinged and fast paced that, after the fact, I find it quite difficult get a strong grasp of what I just watched.

The phone call between March and Oguri was very touching. You can imagine March feeling so distraught that needed to hear her rival's voice. Oguri's clumsiness only made it more emotional

I wouldn't call Do It Yourself my favorite anime of its genre nor I think of it too often, but, I've become quite fond of it. It is pleasant whenever I see fanart of it

Arumajo ep 10. I was certain the angry looking dude in the op would be a villain but, apparently, not (he may still be one but a tragic one at that). A little bit suspicious that every character is getting in the same place as we reach the season's ending ngl

Apocalypse Hotel ep 9. I don't know how to feel abt Ponko being almost completely culturally assimilated as, a refugee (Seeing the couple in their traditional attires was nice tho). But we can always see it as humanity transcending humans which inevitably makes me emotional.
