Not THAT Kristen Stewart. Cooking, reading and growing things in Nashville.
Volunteering at Trunk or Treat today a teen told me our church was where she learned what is compostable and recyclable and it warmed my heart. (We also taught her about Jesus, obviously.)

If you live in Nashville and want a Labubu (or need to buy one for a loved one), International Market on Belmont Blvd has them.

I have been enthusiastically promoting Brami to anyone who wanted protein pasta for almost a year but now it’s at Costco so if you have been eating sad pasta, please give it a try.

I often roll my eyes when people say Nashville is such a small town, but I was on the same flight home as an acquaintance who parked in the daily deck and offered me a ride home so maybe I’m just a cynic.

Update: the tiny weighted blanket does help but my carry-on gets flagged more often. I heard one TSA agent say to the screener “that’s a weighted blanket but I’ll look if you want” and she was satisfied with that. There must be dozens of us.

Just happened to be flying to DC today. By the time I made it to the mall the rally was over but seeing hundreds making their way there on the metro and thousands leaving joyfully made me proud to be an American.

Date: “You are really fun!” Me: “I guess in a middle-aged way, sure.” Date: “What’s stopping you from going dancing on Broadway on a weeknight?” Me: “Absolutely everything.”

Volunteering alongside some high schoolers, trick or treating came up and I mentioned that I am a full-size candy bar giver. Without missing a beat, our rector said, "So you like to buy people's love?" Let me have this, Josh!

I had to put my carry-on six rows behind me this morning, even though I boarded when the plane was half-empty. I was kind to someone at the gate who happened to be perfectly positioned to crowd surf my suitcase to me when we deplaned. 11/10

In my twenties, I was a certified volunteer babywearing educator. Sometimes new moms would add me as a FB friend in case they needed more help. One of those moms just sent me free concert tickets to the Teskey Brothers because I am her only "friend" in Nashville and she can't make the trip.

I am obviously not a disinterested party on this one, but I really do think that this book is a phenomenal resource and hope that it will be a gift to the church - I enjoyed writing my own chapter but even more than that, so loved experiencing the breadth and depth of others' thoughtful reflections
