I swear I’m working. Today, I’m capturing some gameplay for my next trailer project. The game is Sinew. Odd Critter Games developed it with support from the Australian Government and Screen Australia.

Just wrapped up another project for my regular client. It was an AI editing project. These projects are starting to come in more frequently from a few different clients. For this one, I had 51 pages to review.

It’s nice to be outside again. The last couple of weeks have been a bit rainy, which means my morning routine has been out of whack. I’ve still picked up my trusty coffee, but I haven’t been able to go for a walk to get my head in the game for the week.

A toast… to a pretty good week. Who am I kidding? I was going to have a beer anyway. It wasn’t a bad week, though. I wrapped up a three-month project, finishing 30 web pages. I’m optimistic we’ll work together again down the road.

I wasn't expecting my second trailer to be ready this early, but I was pretty excited to work on it. For this trailer, I chose Batography, a cozy game from SporkTank. Batography puts you in the shoes of a curious bat where you run, climb, guide and snap photos for your fellow townsfolk.

Thinking about what I want to achieve this week. I’ve got my usual workload from an agency I work for in the US. I’ll be freshening up a bunch of pages, which also involves updating product names, prices, etc.

One page to go Over the past few months, I’ve been working with a US agency to rewrite the content on an Australian gaming website. I had three months to deliver 30 pages, and I’ve been able to finish it in about two-and-a-half.

Remember when I said I had three things I wanted to accomplish this year? The first was to launch my newsletter, Late to the Party.

Wait, it’s already February? Is it just me, or did January really fly by? Thinking about my goals for the year, I feel I’m on track.

I started the morning with some great feedback on a piece I recently wrote. It was for a role I’m in the running for. Fingers crossed. It’s always nice getting a note when someone enjoys the work.

Submitted an article for a new client yesterday. One I’m hoping to work with long-term. It’s always a gumbo of feelings. Nerves. Excitement. Stress.

Holy moly. It’s been a week. The highlight was the great chat I had with a local publisher about working together. I really enjoyed the conversation and they have commissioned some work, which I’ll do over the weekend.

I have three things I’d like to achieve by the time December 31, 2026 rolls around. This is one of them. It takes me ages to get through TV shows, catch up on movies, and don’t even get me started on video games. For every one thing I finish, another six get added to my backlog. You could say I’m…

Well, it’s raining. Again. Every time it rains in the morning, I have to change my plans. Adapting on the fly is something I’m used to doing in my work. I usually start the day with an idea of what I’m going to work on or finish.

Finishing the week with a nice, refreshing beer. It’s been a big week. I got the chance to interview the CEO of a password manager company for an article. It was a great chat where we got into the weeds about what they’re doing to protect customers and businesses from everyday online threats.

My first article for Video Game Town is live! I had the pleasure of chatting with Argyro Brotsi, the sole developer behind Seina: A Tale of Spirits. We discussed her inspiration for creating a cozy adventure game, the pros and cons of being a sole developer, and why she chose Japan as the setting.

New year. New chair. New headphones. I’m starting the year with a couple of upgrades. My office chair broke at the end of 2025 and let’s just say my replacement wasn’t ergonomically friendly. Today is the first day with my new chair, and my back already feels a lot more comfortable.

Officially back to work today. I didn’t really have a break. While I spent a few weeks in Adelaide with my parents, I did some AI editing and wrote a few articles in between delicious home-cooked meals, scrumptious outings, and a wine tasting or two.

Greetings and salutations from Radelaide. I’ve been down here hanging out with the folks, checking out some of the local delicacies, sampling some of the region’s wines, and chipping away at a project or two in between courses.

Here’s a project I work on every month for my main client. I get a list of their 10 most valuable pages and refresh some of the content. Sometimes it’s updating information, such as price changes or new products. Other times, it’s making something sound more interesting.

Here’s a POV of how my Monday mornings normally start. Me just staring at a blank page. Then the coffee starts to kick in and words like these start to come out. By lunch time I’m on a bit of a roll.

It’s probably not the best idea to start the evening with a triple IPA. Ah, screw it. It’s been a big week. I knocked out three more articles for my new client. The feedback continues to be great.

Working out the to-do list in my head. I’ve got to update a couple of tech articles. The company has asked to shuffle the order of some “best of” lists and update the content.

Downloading another video editing project today. I’ve got a few I’m working through over the next couple of weeks as the year winds down.

It’s falling into place. Not my work life. I’m still on the hunt for some content writing, content editing, or video editing after this three-month project wraps up. The feedback has been excellent. No revisions required yet, which is always a bonus.

No time for a clever pose this morning. Today I’m working on an article for my new client. The feedback for the first two has been excellent. No changes required, so it’s full steam ahead.

Taking a moment to stop and smell the coffee. That’s how that saying goes, right? I need the extra second because it’s going to be a big week. I’ll continue working on a project with a new client, aiming to complete three articles by the end of the week.

Thumbs up for another week. It’s been a big one. I started a new project, delivering the first article today. It’s Thanksgiving in the US, so I don’t expect feedback until early next week.
