Saw a clip of a new hoyoverse character, and thought her idle pose deserved a diaper.

So, I intended to make a really fancy comic for Magical Month... But I got too worried about the quality and ended up doing lots of practicing but no finished piece. Darn. So that's where I've been. Instead, have a fanart for @flams2002.bsky.social, featuring Jill x Gogo in a titillating pose.

Reference copy of Padded Room's trist sketch for practice today. Might do another pass to try and fix the errors I noticed.

Today's practice, this is a reference copy but I couldn't find the original author.

Been focusing on getting some form to my legs the last few days. I'd like 'em to be a little more than tubes, but not too much more.

Warm up ended up being better than what I planned to do today.

Day 140. I haven't been taking a break, despite the seven days since the last post. Drawing every day. I've been committing to actually finish one of my projects, while keeping up on general practices like figure drawing and lines. And here is said first project finished, a little superhero comic!

Day 133, took a few days off then made this painting.

Day 129, 3 hours of work later, still not very close to finished. All the art advice I read says to challenge yourself but not too much and I might've overshot a little on this one. But using a 50% opacity fill of the same color you're using for the lines makes an interesting shading.

Day 127, today's reference copy was of Magia Bowser. As fun as the lewd parts of Looking up to Magical Girls was, I was particularly blown away by the 'evil impact' frames where Ononaka Akihiro goes all out with the black. Hoping to finish this one tomorrow.

Day 125, been going through the symphogear manga and reference copying every Hibiki panel for practice. This was the nicest.

Day 123, tried the "Tomato" focus method from Marc Brunet to pretty decent effect. I've been practicing Hibiki a lot lately, but I also need to learn Lili if my plans for Magical Month 2025 are to come true. Lili is @tamaeftt.bsky.social 's character.

Day 122 Finishing up that work from yesterday, the brush definitely does better inking than sketching, but I still feel like I want a little bit of size-pressure connection, where like, at my normal pressure it's 100% width, but as I come off the page it tapers to like 50%

Day 121, some hair studies of Hibiki from Symphogear, as well as trying out a new brush. I am not sure I like the feel of this brush, but I did use it for sketching instead of lineart, so maybe that's the problem. Maybe it's for inking.

Day 114 Working on trying to turn yesterday's work into a more finished piece. Cliffs:

Day 113, I've done some diagnosis of my art, and prescribed a double helping of lines, curves, and boxes. Need more fundamentals. But one cannot live on fundamentals alone, so I also did a piece with a very Chuuni name, Curse of Wings.

Days 111 and 112, I've mostly been practicing some lines and curves workbooks, with some mild sketching in between. Closest thing to a finished piece was this Ian C Samson inspired generic background boy on one of my pages of random faces.

Practice, referenced from a frame of Tailenders, a short one shot 20 minute anime that is best experienced via AMV that cuts out all of the dialogue, because the story is told just fine with the visuals.

Day 109, still just scribblin random faces and line practice.

Day 108, just a little scriblin'. I don't what she's upset about, but it's something.

Day 107, practiced some painting. Reference is Carter Vail from his video for Arizona.

Day 106, just a tracing study of a very lovely Soi Fon by Shexyo.

Day 105 I was experimenting with some perspective and wall textures. Had some fun though I put the vanishing point too high for the angles I wanted to draw the characters from, and I never got around to the characters

Okay, Day 104, for the last week I've been alternatively skipping out for Holidays or being anxious and making little progress, but after all that time's said and done, I came out with this, trying out a weird coloring style. I don't think I'll stick with it, but it was interesting to try. #ABDL

More practice, of course my favorite sketch of the day would be the one I stuck in a corner without enough space to be finished. :P

Day 97, just some line and circle practice and some boxes.

Yesterday I tried to do some metal textures and well, did not go well, got discouraged quick. Today, Day 95, decided to try giving the colorize mask another go. Traced a frame of Edgerunners with really nice color complexity and gave it a go. Came out legible at least.

Day 93, Merry Christmas! Did some drawing, and I think this is one of my best no reference full body poses so far, even if I did use loose fitting clothes to hide all my shakey weaknesses. :P

Day 92, still just some practice. IN the top right, you can really see the difference it makes to solidly make your guidelines and slowly build them up. Can't draw that circle for the head guideline to save your life? Draw a box! Guidelines for your guidelines!

Day 91 had already rolled by, going by midnight, but I wanted to do at least something to stay in the habit. Decided to try and break down this art into shapes and figure, and it was interesting to me how badly I messed up the torso at first, letting myself get misguided by the right shoulder.

Day 89 and 90 practice, day 89 tried a new full body drawing method, think I made the head way too small, and couldn't get the knees to look remotely right, don't think it works for me. Day 90 tried some side profiles referenced from Akira Toriyama and liked it a lot. It's a nice and forgiving style

Day 88 Think I made the head too big, even for anime style, and other assorted errors, but still had fun with it. Original I referenced by ho_mori.

Day 87, took yesterday off, didn't color yesterday's drawing, but continued drawing similar characters. This has been the first character I've colored in quite awhile. I misplaced the left hair and I think the left eye should be slightly bigger, but eh, could be worse.

Day 85 It seems the solution to my hair woes was "simpler hair". Really liked a sketch I made during practice today, so I inked it and was pretty happy with it. Might try to color it tomorrow.

Day 84 I tried a practice technique I heard about, where first you do a copy of someone's art over top, then you try from memory, then you compare. I feel like mine is so different it's difficult to compare though. They did say not to be worried about that tho. Original from Cyrille Yukimaru again.

Day 82 was mostly boxes and line practice, and then experimenting with a wacky brush to eeeh outcomes. Then Day 83 was attempting to draw over a reference picture of a sitting pose.

Day 81, I knew I was gonna be stuck in a play for three hours, so I got a sketchpad to practice. I think perhaps I'm making my figures too literal because everyone comes out very slumped? Do we all just have terrible posture in real life? I swear every shoulder line looked like this.
