While the truck is missing most of the accommodations for CF camping that we were promised, we were able to get set up with electricity for my youngest child’s meds fridge and equipment by staying at Housekeeping Camp. Not exactly roughing it, but we did find some rocks and trees and squirrels.

This bugs me more than it should. The Red V in the back looks like a viper’s head. Cool, cool. Then the bottom of the V in the word is elongated and sharp to look like a fang. Other side, the R at the end is another fang, except a completely different shape. Also, the whole word is off center. HATE.

To be fair, Oildale doesn't consider itself part of Bakersfield.

Removed the hard drives from my old Mac G4 and G5 to harvest the old photos out of them before discarding the machines. It’s wild that the G4 requires 214 specific steps, special tools, and magic, while the G5 is like ‘lift this lever, rotate plastic tab, hard drive will fall out into your hand.’

I've been getting a lot of veterinary ads in my feeds recently, which is weird, but at least now I know that insulating the extremities of cats during anesthesia reduces core temperature decline with additional benefits from active warming. Game changer.

This one hurts.

Making leg quarters for dinner, and my phone informs me the smoker needs a firmware update & has lost its connection to wifi, so this will take 30+ minutes. Sometimes I wonder if the smoker needs wifi and firmware, but then I smack myself in the temple with a hammer, and it's all good.

This week has been trying. One kid with an upper respiratory infection, one with a cystic fibrosis exacerbation, & the school calling 2x per day. I don't know how many different ways I can tell them to fuck off. Their work is getting done via interwebs. I don't give a shit about perfect attendance.
