Music demo time! This week, I have some heavy cyberpunk music: Going for a futuristic sound with a grimy / dirty edge, I think that combination is the essence of the cyberpunk aesthetic. Could work as a boss battle theme in an ARPG, with the quieter parts underscoring cutscenes.

I wrote an epic boss fight theme! I was envisioning a climactic battle in the sky against a gargantuan boss, hence the title, "Sky Sunderer". Maybe not the final boss, but definitely close to it!

I wrote some creepy music, taking inspiration from Japanese horror media and going for a slight retro 90s/00s vibe. Makes me think of dark, mysterious woods, and some messed up occult ritual happening by a moonlit night. Not written for Halloween specifically, but it did line up pretty well!

I wrote a piece with a 15/16 time signature, which is probably the wackiest time signature I've ever used! Going for something crystalline, enigmatic, and ethereal. Think a late-game level in an RPG or Metroidvania made of pure white, mirrors and glass.

Here's a somber and sorrowful track I wrote recently, featuring piano and an accompaniment of strings, guitar, and electronics. Could work as a main menu theme, or for a specific in-game cutscene.

In Final Fantasy Tactics on the PS1, there's a moment in the game that apparently came to be known as a "save death trap": The game offers you to save right before a big battle, but from that point on, you have no way to progress other than winning said battle. Can't turn back and grind.

Currently playing FF Tactics for the first time, I really like how the story and themes feel different from other FFs. Less "fate" and "saving the world" and more social / political stuff. Feels like a more adult story which I think is cool. I have a lot of thoughts about the gameplay:

Just finished FFVII Rebirth and... I'm pissed! Way more than i would have imagined i'd be. Similar to how I felt at the end of FF7 Remake but way worse. 🧵 I was enjoying it for the most part even though i didn't like some of the plot changes they made and thought the side content was too much and

Currently playing FF7 Rebirth, just got to Mt Corel I'm really enjoying it so far. Some of the side content is a bit much tbh, especially the Chadley stuff (i hate him) Also that moment with Red XIII on the boat... can't remember laughing so hard at a game before. If you know, you know 💚

Please play disco elysium. Like not to be dramatic but it's a really important piece of art and I'm sure some part of you will change after playing through it. I don't know what the truly moral means of consuming it is and I'm kind of at the point that I don't care just play it if you haven't.
