We wrote down questions to ask our new visitor, leading on to a discussion about what planets we think we have heard of and what is a planet. Much more engaging than a dry - what planets do you know.

There are currently a lot of jokes and parodies on TV about Andrew Mountbatten Windsor. I feel really uncomfortable with this, like it’s making light of the things he may have done. We really need to show more respect and empathy for the victims.

I dislike the requirement to track attainment so early in school. That is all.

One pupil this week made a book out of post-its and asked the PSA to scribe his story. And what a wonderful story it is. These moments can’t happen if children don’t get prolonged time in play, and adults don’t spend time in the play with them. #PlayIsTheWay

We’ve been learning about famous footballers. Lots of us have seen some flats in Aberdeen with a very impressive mural of Scottish footballer, Denis Law. So we are going to try painting some footballers now.

We made some little lights for Diwali today.

Our board game of the week. We change it each week. Then by the end of term the children know how to play lots of them. Anyone got a favourite board game/card game from when they were 5? I spend a lot of time in charity shops!

Back to school tomorrow after the Autumn holiday! This week we are learning about famous footballers! We are looking for famous *footballers who are good role models. I’m happy to take suggestions! *soccer AKA real football

I signed this because I see so many children pushed on with phonics and writing way before they are ready. Let’s stop being in such a rush. Let children play.
