It's Transit Equity Day! Santa Rosa CityBus, Petaluma Transit, and Sonoma County Transit are offering fare-free rides all day today, Feb. 4, to celebrate Transit Equity Day, honoring Rosa Parks and the fight for accessible public transportation.

This week I, met with the Legal Affairs Sec & Cabinet Sec of the @governor.ca.gov. They reached out to talk about how successful the rebuild in SR/Coffey Park was, & what lessons we learned that they might use in SoCal.

Here in Santa Rosa, we've seen firsthand how grassroots efforts and collective determination can drive recovery and rebuild stronger, more connected communities. By sharing our experiences, we can help other regions navigate their challenges and emerge even stronger. I spoke to Reuters about that.

I’m optimistic about the possibilities the Drone as First Responders (DFR) program could bring to Santa Rosa. This innovative approach, currently under consideration, has the potential to revolutionize how our first responders protect and serve our community.

Yesterday, I celebrated a milestone for Santa Rosa: the acquisition of the Southeast Greenway! This project transforms a neglected area into a vibrant sanctuary for nature & our community. Thanks to the Southeast Greenway Campaign & partners like Sonoma Land Trust for making this vision a reality.

Today, our city manager and police chief working with the Santa Rosa City Schools Superintendent came to an agreement on a plan to have police officers present on High School campuses through the rest of this calendar year. This is an important first step and I look forward to working with SRCS
