Here are some webcam snapshots I grabbed before I went to bed this morning from WA down to central CA.

And… I wake up and the solar storm appears to still be going on so maybe just maybe we will see it when it gets dark here in the states before it comes to an end.

How I can’t win today… I left my viewing location just west of the picture below 20 minutes before this happened and got under the fog layer in the central valley so I couldn’t see what I was missing! Ughhhh oh well good night world maybe next time!

Three cameras in extreme Northern California see northern lights at the moment with a g2, fingers crossed it gets back up to a g4 it’ll drop even farther south!

Well in half the space weathers page shows we have been struck by the x1.9 solar flare while the two circled items in the other picture show otherwise… The question is did we get struck yet or not? Either way keep your eyes peeled to the sky for northern lights!

Latest NASA CME model: CME may be FASTER than originally anticipated. Impact is slated for Jan 20 around 1 UT--it's a very fast CME and could deliver strong geomagnetic storming Monday night with auroras visible across mid-latitudes. We'll see what happens over the next 24 hr! #heliophysics

An x flare came off the sun and it appears it’ll be a direct hit to earth… Updates to come with aurora etc

Solar storm inbound with potential mid level auroras across the us and Europe possible. They are expected to hit sometime after 4pm (pst) this afternoon through possibly into tomorrow evening. Keep your eyes peeled to the north for any auroras!

Finally got my Christmas tree put together just haven’t decided if I want to put ornaments on or not since charlotte 🐈‍⬛ would likely want to destroy them lol 😆

The geomagnetic storm from last night is still going on but is slowly starting to fade, however there is still signs that it might continue into tonight so after dark for those along the Canadian border and central to northern tier of the us should be looking after dark… Currently a G1 level.

G3 storms possibly over the next few hours… those in the Midwest and northern states have a far better chance at seeing the northern lights!
