Detailed surveys of an endangered skink find it is likely to decline in a region of high-elevation cloud rainforests supporting exceptional biodiversity and endemism. But it remains possible that gullies provide microclimatic refugia to climate change.

How hot is too hot? And can crevices act as thermal refuges for the Kaputar rock skink? DT Roberts and co find that crevices provide thermal buffering, but future climate may elevate evaporative water loss presenting an additional physiological challenge.
