Great first day at
#ECEAI
- ideas are already flowing and it’s lovely to be able to catch up with so many colleagues and friends! Such a beautiful space in Uppsala University for the opening events as well.

Had a lovely time at the
#EUALearnTeach
Forum the past two days catching up with colleagues and discussing a range of topics from empowering students to tacking wicked problems in HE and being future ready. Was great to present our work on GenAI staff/student surveys and actions for training.

Our open publication "Using GenAI in Teaching Learning and Assessment in Irish Universities" is now available! You'll find 31 use cases from across disciplines in this resource. It was great to collaborate with 7 unis on this to capture what's happening in Irish HE.

This is well worth a read. All important critiques to consider to ensure we are making informed decisions about GenAI in education. I have particular concerns around #8 that overuse and/or uncritical use may not only diminish these human capacities but also the value we place in them.

Different Critiques of AI in Education
I’ve needed to write this post for a long time. It’s about the differences in the types of arguments people use when they want to critique or resist AI in education. The nuanced differences between…

Something HE will need to consider - if Leaving Cert students are allowed to use AI (with acknowledgement) for their project work, it will be increasingly difficult to simply tell students they can't use AI at Third Level. Assessment design and security will be key.
