Really excited to share the first paper from my PhD! We explored autistic pupils' experiences of using school sensory rooms. They reported benefits for wellbeing, learning and sensory needs with self-directed use. Adaptable equipment was appreciated to meet context-dependent needs. #autism #AutRes

#Thread How taking part in research has benefited me. As well as being an Autistic autism researcher I take part in other people’s research studies. This is partly altruistic as I want to reduce inequalities and improve things for future generations, but I also gain a great deal from it personally.

New paper out #openaccess in Molecular Autism today that shows #autistic #trans #nonbinary and #genderdiverse (TGD) people are more likely to have physical and mental health conditions than nonautistic cisgender people. Alongside this, they also reported poorer quality #healthcare bit.ly/4geRRlC
