A new Fritillaria meleagris icon just added to the database. This accession flowers in deciduous woodland before leaves emerge unlike most populations which are found in open grassland.

What do you see? Blue Tit feeding on Allium seeds. Just one other plant is setting seed, Fritillaria imperialis which 6 wks earlier the Blue Tit would have sipped its nectar and pollinated its flowers.
