During this beta process I’ve learned how valuable it is to have people who know you / your storytelling shticks review your story heavy games because they know what you’re TRYING to do and tell you in good faith when something misses the mark

When you're TOO good at conveying characters through musical themes and the loud and obnoxious character's theme is loud and obnoxious lol (actual solution: I just lowered the relative volume by 20% whenever it plays lmao. Should do that with other "loud" tracks too methinks.)

Things I did this past week: -Go through the script and edit out excessive punctuation -Edited a few lines for one particular route to better convey intended ideas -Fixed some mid-game affection score calculation weirdness

I'm going to embarrass myself and admit I don't get why the prevailing wisdom is visual novels/dating sims, etc. are only complete after clearing every route. Game reacting to my decisions and ending accordingly? Magic. Repeating until I've exhausted every choice? That's a checklist, not a story.

Getting critical feedback for your work is a bit tough on my AuDHD ass but it does speak for how much my rejection sensitivity's improved "ease up on the ellipses" and "could be more specific about your intended framing of X theme" don't mean I'm the worst author since whoever wrote My Immortal lol
