Koloman Moser (1868–1918) was one of the leading artists of the Vienna Secession movement, alongside Josef Hoffman, Otto Wagner and Gustav Klimt. In 1901, the artist was approached by the Austro-Hungarian Bank to design new banknotes. This painting marks the beginning of Moser’s creative journey.
