my ideal cozy game is a farming sim but it's specifically focused on wool and yarn. Raise sheep, shear them, card wool, spin yarn... and maybe do some dungeon crawling to acquire cool dye ingredients

do all your shading in one color on a multiply layer, then go back and tweak shadows and highlights as needed. keeps you from getting overwhelmed by color decisions when setting up initial values (also mindlessly shading in one color is relaxing)
