With the new job, I didn't get much time or energy to blog lately, but I figured I'd use the various downtime while traveling to Ruby Kaigi to write about some of the things I worked on recently:

Optimizing Ruby Path Methods
Back in November last year, I started a new job at Intercom, and one of the first projects I got to work on was improving the Intercom monolith CI with some of my new colleagues.

I've beaten Absolum four times now, so I decided to try Streets of Rage 4 again, and Absolum is way better. SoR4 controls and combos are way too hard for me

I'm not sure why people are so concerned about test anti-patterns. Do anti-patterns even require tests in the first place?

Not every sponsorship looks the same, and it shouldn’t. Ruby Central offers options from headline visibility to wifi, social events, or the Scholars and Guides program. Align your sponsorship with what matters to your company. Let’s talk:

RuboCop 1.85.0 ships with a built-in MCP server. You can now give Claude Code or OpenCode direct access to RuboCop as a structured tool. Here is how to set it up.

Since token prices are so subsidized by VC right now, I was thinking of starting a company to hoard them and sell them at a later date. Thinking of calling the company "Enron"? Or "Aaronron"?

Wow, I made a huge mistake. Bought a book from Routledge because they said it came in EPUB format. Turns out what they mean is that it doesn't come in EPUB format and you have to download a proprietary ebook reader. ffs
