Bruh, I just realized that my two gyro wave makers were off in the living room fish tank lol. I'm pretty sure they've been off for a week or more. *face palm* There are a couple spots that look like there is cyano bacteria and that makes way more sense now!

I was watching my living room aquarium and admiring the fishies in there this morning. I'm super glad I took the dive and @chezlin.bsky.social let me buy this Innovative Marine EXT 112 last year. This tank will just keep getting better and better. <3 Such a fun escape in our own home.

Yay I saw a hummingbird checking out our plumeria flowers. We don't have too much in bloom in the backyard right now so I put out a hummingbird feeder.

Just FYI clownfish (nemos) are awesome, but lemme tell you they're assholes. Meanest fish I've ever met. One of these guys literally jumped out of the tank hit me in the face and fell on the floor like 3 months ago. lol They're SO territorial all I did was bend over to look at the clam from the top

Here is an update on how my Entergy electric bill is looking. We added a few solar panels towards the end of August. Then got the array up to 10 going into September. Not too shabby.

Have y'all heard of Ranger Rick magazine? I had never heard of it until I was talking to some co-workers about Highlights and they mentioned getting Ranger Rick at home, but reading Highlights at the Doctor's office.

Woot! Today we hit a fun milestone. 1 MWh of power has been produced at home using solar. Just a little bit over a month. This equates to about $130 in savings from Entergy. :)

It worked super well. Like made some yummy s'mores that were hot enough that we had to be careful with our bites haha

PJ got a new to her bookshelf yesterday with @chezlin.bsky.social at the ReStore. She was excited to go gather up her books from around the house.

We went and had lunch with a couple of friends at Stein's and PJ out of nowhere said, "I have a random idea! What if we make a solar stove and make s'mores??" So here we are :) We had to stop at the store for school snacks anyway lol

I'm stuck! I need to make dinner, but I'm making progress understanding how to tie Home Assistant with my inverter, panels, and battery. So, I should be able to adjust the AC and turn certain things off depending on the state of things. I guess I'll make tacos though.. humans gotta eat and stuff

Success! Only had to install ProxMox twice because I setup networking wrong round one and that was easier then figuring out how to fix lol

Installing ProxMox on a mini PC I got from work so I can free up my Pi5 for other projects and run home assistant in a VM on this mini PC. Been a while since I've done this kind of IT work, but it'll either work or explode.

My lovely best friend wife @chezlin.bsky.social has aphantasia so she can't picture things like the utility room redesign she wants to do. So, she 3d printed all the big stuff in there and a scaled room so she could figure it all out. Love this woman lol she's a nut

Here is what the solar generation and battery charge looked like today. You can see how jagged my solar generation got and that was due to the inverter throttling how much generation it could use based on the house need and battery being close to full. I should have ran the dishwasher or something.

On my inverter's management page it has this little tracker of "CO2" reduction and coal saving. Louisiana does only get about 8% of it's power from coal these days so this calculation is probably off, but pretty cool stuff anyway.

PJ got surprised with ice cream on the way home from school. We took her to Creole Creamery for doing so well at her shot appointment this morning. She ordered 2 scoops, clementine cardamom and then bitter chocolate tort. This 5 year old... lol

PJ got her flu shot today and she was like "that was so quick I didn't even have to do my breathing techniques from my books!!" She was excited and nervous, but did it and went to class after. She's awesome. Since I was on a conference call she made a video to tell me how it went. Love it ❤️
