Former Georgian PM Irakli Gharibashvili was first charged in October 2025 with laundering $6.5 million in illegal income in a high-profile corruption case, after authorities searched his home and seized assets.

Today a solidarity rally's been held near prison for Mzia Amaghlobeli prominent Georgian media manager & journalist, founder of free media in🇬🇪 It's been 1year since @MziaAmaglobeli's unlawful imprisonment. Her health deteriorated during this period journalist lost vision in one eye 📸RadioTavisufleba

It has been a year since Mzia Amaghlobeli was arrested. This is footage of her first arrest. She was briefly released afterward, and soon after that came the slap and her arrest under the criminal code. For placing a sticker on a wall for a few seconds, she was fined about $700.

It’s been a year since Mzia was arrested. I worked through the night. Everything that happened that night was crazy. I never imagined it would last this long though.

Troll accounts affiliated with GD are posting about Iran in Facebook comments, arguing that when protests become ‘destructive,’ the gov't is right to suppress them. They call Iranian protesters ‘Akatsuki,’ just as GD calls Georgian protesters. Therefore, GD is siding with the current Iranian regime.
