I feel like I have far less gripes than the average osr scenester. I think seeing it all as the silly nerd hobby shit that it evidently is, it's hard to care too much for any of it. Also, playing games is a great antidote for overthinking them, it seems.

Not to be contrarian about it, but I think that, if anything, the RPG market cares a little *too* much about books as physical objects. Nice books are nice, and I absolutely believe that they attract buyers, but I wouldn't say it's *hugely* important to me above a certain floor.

I'm full aware this is absolutely unhelpful, but I think the best and surest way* to break into ttrpgs (or anything else) is simply by being too good at it to be ignored. Which sucks for me and 90% of people out there, I guess. *Not the only way, tho

Played as a man-horse (not a centaur) on last night's sesh. Party managed to make enemies out of both the town's guard and the pirate crew attacking it. All in all a quintessentially "old school" experience for us.
