After the 1988 Bandai model of Kaneda’s iconic bike, here’s another gem: the Bandai Soul of Popynica version of Kaneda’s bike from Akira. Released in 2004 as part of Bandai’s Soul of Popynica line, this is a ridiculously detailed, die-cast piece straight out of Otomo’s manga and the 1988 movie.

BC Racers for the Sega Mega CD, from 1994! Back in the day, as a Mega CD owner, this was one of my earliest games… and let’s just say, it left a “memorable” impression. The NEC PC Engine LT 😍 Released in Japan in 1991 for a hefty ¥99,800, has a great built-in flip-up 4″ TFT screen. It’s essentially a fully-featured PC Engine with internal speakers, a traditional controller port, and even a TV tuner. Extremely limited production run, estimated between 1~5k units.
