There seems to be some real excitement over the Dungeon Crawler Carl pin. I don't know much about the books, but people seem to like them. I really hope with licenses like this and Portal more people give the P3 platform a chance.

Today I gazed into the Hell of AI as a software dev & I feel dread. It's not AI writing code that inspires the feeling, it's AI writing design documents. Pages upon pages of slop that some poor human soul will have to parse & implement. Eventually it comes for the devs, but 1st it commands us.

So this was a lie. Body decided not to cooperate yesterday so I didn't stream. I'm thinking about moving Tarot to Thursday and bumping Alien isolation off the schedule this week instead. Only tricky bit is guessing if enough people will show up for a Thursday Tarot stream to make for a good queue.

Feeling my Cyberpunk themed Tarot deck tonight. It renames most cards nearly de-genders it, which I love. The anxiety machine that is Alien Isolation continues. Everything on this station clearly wants us dead. GK2 with it's glorious 90s FMV acting to finish off the week.

When I wasn't feeling great the other week I put G1 Transformers on in the background as I laid on the couch. Apparently the 22 minute toy commercial still works. Unfortunately for Hasbro the knockoffs on AliExpress are cheap & decently executed. These are way better than the ones I had as a kid.

If the Sonic Pinball machine doesn't use the Drowning Music for a hurry up, that's a real missed opportunity (to trigger latent trauma in an entire generation).

Had my bro over on Father's day - we continued our 20+ year rivalry in the NeoGeo holy trinity of Windjammers, Magical Drop III & Garou Mark of the Wolves. Was running them under Emulation Station, maybe it's time we update to the modern sequels. 🤔 Bazzite is changing how I think about Steam gaming.

Got an update the other day about the Elvira Mistress of the Dark Tarot deck I kickstarted late last year. Looks like it might be here in about a month and I'm excited. I'll do a unboxing / 1st readings stream the Monday after I get it.

Been rewatching G1 Transformers. Yeah, it's a 22-minute toy commercial but the writers snuck in genuine anti-capitalist subtext, especially with the Quintessons. Never caught it as a kid. I just remember thinking these fuckers were more evil than Mega/Galvatron. Anybody else notice this?

My Body hasn't been cooperating causing me to miss a couple streams. Really hoping to be back tomorrow for Gabriel Knight 2. The whole thing has been frustrating but I think the chances are pretty good that things are back to normal.

Is it just me or is JJP hyping up Sonic more than they have for the majority of their previous pins? I hope they have a winner on their hands & know it. Sonic is a great IP for a pin so here's hoping Richie made an original layout that leans heavily into speed & flow.

Streamers: Can we get better on-platform discoverability? Twitch: Best we can do is an AI summary nobody asked for. Discoverability is broken because it's CVC driven. "The Rich Get Richer". If Twitch wants to burn compute radically improve suggestions by uncovering more meaningful viewer patterns.

Tonight I took the #1 high score on our Bram Stoker's Dracula pin with 1B, good but not good enough to dethrone my wife's 1.2B* Grand Champ. *Happened it in a tournament with no extra balls. I had 3. If she got to play her EB's her score would have been that much more impressive.

Health update: My lungs have had it rough & it turns out part of that was using a product that I didn't know was recalled. Off it now & combined with a GLP-1 & lifestyle changes, small but real progress in the right direction. Chest CT'd yesterday to see how bad the damage is. Hoping for good news.

The 1st time I ever heard KMFDM it was Ultra on the Manga Video sizzle reel that was on like every imported piece of anime in the 90s. Thought it sounded badass. Bought Nihil; Ultra, Juke Joint Jezebel, Beast etc... great album. It's stuck in my cars CD changer. Won't eject it but still plays.

Forgot I had a pinball tournament Saturday when I wrote up the schedule. Moved the start of Gabriel Knight 2 to Sunday. I started the game up in ScumVM to test it... 90s FMV. Pixels? Chunky. Colors? Dithered. Acting? Questionable. If you don't remember this era of gaming you are in for a treat.

Question for the variety streamers: Do you ever worry about running out of games you actually want to play? Since I've become more intentional with what I pick to stream I've thought about this. I've gone from the "infinite" backlog to very finite list that will last maybe a year.
