Yesterday, I gave a talk to the #ISKOUK Conference, presenting the status quo and challenges of creating Knowledge Organization Systems of Research Fields. This slide summarises what I learned during these years in trying to use AI to generate them. It's cool, it's artistic, but bloody hard!

When reviewing papers, I often read among the 'contributions' a list of things the authors have done, e.g., conduct a comprehensive user study, an evaluation, an analysis of future development. This is ridicolous as these are **prerequisites** for a rigorous scientific work, not contributions.

Just received reviews from a journal* paper I submitted, and one review was clearly for another paper. The Editor in Chief simply can't care to fix things *Not sure if I must oblige by shaming the journal, but it's an Elsevier one and has an IF of 8 (that must mean sth in terms of reputation)

I feel old when I have a coding issue, and I go to seek a solution on StackOverflow (yes, a bit anachronistic), and then you find a solution from 16 years and 4 months ago. And it works!
