It never fails to be a joy when a parcel from Manderley Press gets delivered. Today was no exception. The Moon is Making by Storm Jameson first published in 1938 It very much points the literary finger at Whitby on the Yorkshire coast. Another beautiful Manderley volume and I can't wait to read it.

David Hockney was a painter whose work could make me gasp. I remember seeing the giant tree painting at the Royal Academy and wondering how such simple lines and colors could be so captivating. Rest in gay peace.
