In the last 24 hours on my street in Iceland we've had both gale force winds & calm; heavy snow & light rain; blowing sleet & brilliant sunshine; overcast gloom & crashing thunder and lightning. Waves of this, followed by waves of that and then back again. Temperamental ass country. 😍🙂

Today's walk in Iceland This ground next to a frozen ditch looks like coral. I don't know the name for the process, but in winter the groundwater freezes (I think?) and pushes the soil into weird craggy peaks.

Today's walk in Iceland Painfully cold wind freezing fingers and face. Even all bundled up, it was rough.

We had a little bit of snow on Monday. On Tuesday, the temperature dropped to the coldest we've had so far this winter. There was very little wind. And yet! All the snow was gone by Tuesday evening. I think the air was so dry that the snow just evaporated.
