Rene falls in love with people and places very quickly, and over time comes to see the flaws in it and turn away, his love has to be held or retained. The promise of new things being better, "grass is greener on the other side", has always been his vice.

I don't think he's often had the power or authority to afford to blame other people. If something goes wrong it's a problem to be solved or a consequence to grit your teeth through, nothing more. Only recently has he had the confidence to not take the blame for things unjustly.

I think a lot of things activate his fight or flight resources. If you hug him from behind you might find youself on the floor, or slapped. If he were watching a scary movie he'd freeze up, a stoic silent fear. If it's not a jumpscare, not much could frighten him, though spiders could make him jump.

I've written a lot of rene's time in dalmasca with "come out ye' black and tans" in mind including lots of events from the troubles being used as reference. Easy to write when everyone around you has stories about it. (Song has nothing to do with dark skinned people lmao)

I'm home from christmas, I was up at 5am and I'm so bad at any changes to my sleep schedule, in both the plane and the train I was doin that cartoonish "nodding my head forwards and jerking back awake every 5 minutes" scene.

Deleted my xnnas post because only bots were responding to it, yay what a wonderful world.

He'd be a scholar in sharlayan and he'd say a rat stole his final thesis and it'd be a realm hopping wild-goose-chase questline where you eventually catch up to the rat to realise it's his voidsent Undara who stole it cus he hadn't been given candy recently.

I think he'd fall for vamp fatal and honey bee and would blush when he sees them. He'd spar with the tyrant and brute bomber for fun and have a friendly relationship with red hot (though I think blue viera doesn't like that much)

I wanna answer that qotd about weird questions asked about Rene but sadly I don't think I've received any. He's too normal :/ I don't consider questions about sexuality as weird.
