I want to work at a company who contributes to open source software. I'm tired of just taking shit and never giving back "because we don't have time" Giving back should be mandatory and done on company time

I wish I had more energy and time and wasn't in a negative head space so much, really. But it often seems like a lot of unrelated things are just bad enough to make my life worse, without any collusion, it's just kinda bad

how do I justify being nice to someone who's like "yeah I use AI. yeah on average it's really bad for society. yeah it's also bad for the environment. I don't care I'm going to use it"

even the slightest mention of AI in the morning makes it bad. i'm preparing to go to work to a place where right across from me there's a colleague spending 500€+ of tokens a month (paid by the company) and on a nearby desk, someone so clueless they need to ask what to pick at fast foods

I don't. super vibe with deltarune? or undertale I don't really understand why they got so much traction. I don't super want to try to do the other routes in all the deltarune chapters

I love the simplicity of plain text tools so much. it's so easy, you can run them, do stuff, pipe into bash tools, audit the result, fix the mistakes by hand IT'S SO COOL ALL THE FEATURES ARE THERE we don't need fancy ass dashboards with proprietary APIs we literally already have everything

Settled on hledger for budgeting/accounting, with nanoledger on phone to add transactions, and a simple text editor to make tweaks. I also have a termux shortcut to make a balance sheet report with a single button! It's working great, no fear of data corruption, all open source

waking up and randomly remembering old flash games I'd play on kongregate. one was an RPG where you could customize your character, I think there were 2 main routes, I forgot the rest lol I wonder how old I was at that time?

well, with all that set up, I should see how I can generate reports easily to show how much I spend on clothes (functional), clothes (💙), video games, food, transports, alcohol, music, house… electricity…… water……… :faustblurgh:

I need to keep a budget again. Do accounting I like the idea of hledger's plain text files, but I imagine I'll do a lot of my accounting on my phone so I'm not sure it's practical

every time I post about commissions I'm like. "I'm terrible value for money and you can make such a difference by commissioning better artists and allowing them to live from their work, don't commission me" argh

I am not made for Capitalism. Every relationship I have feels cheapened and dehumanized by the exchange of money. Everything becomes a hollow experience because it is meted out by an arbitrary quantification of worth. It makes me feel as if the only true emotion or relational value is exploitation
