Day 23 - Favorite Minigame This is a TIE for me between Chocobo Hot & Cold in IX and the piano minigame in VII Rebirth. Either one of these would make an amazing standalone title and I am always bummed in their respective games when I completely finish them.

Animal Crossing New Horizons trying to kill me with irony as I find the villager Snooty for a second time when searching Nook Miles islands for a snooty villager. I DON'T LIKE HER.

Day 22 - Final Fantasy I Played the Most Most hours: XIV. Hard to beat that for anyone that's played it all the way through I think. 🤭 Most replayed: Dissidia Final Fantasy 012 [duodecim]. I've replayed even just the story alone so many times, probably about once a year. 🫣

Day 21 - Favorite Armor Design: Faris (Amano) Amano's art for Faris is just one of the most stylish things I've ever seen! I know Faris doesn't exactly look like this in-game but I'm still counting it.

This week in Animal Crossing New Horizons: * Clay, Nana, and Wendy moved in * Resident Services upgraded to a proper building and our overworked diva began her tenure * Two lovely additional rooms in my house * Nana was making a cutting board (!!!) * Olaf was my 1st campsite visitor (yay he cute)

Day 20 - Favorite Story: IX I mean, is this a surprise at all? I know some people have a problem with the story in the back half of IX but I love it all the way through. Each turn of the plot is in the development of the characterization and theme and the game has the most bittersweet ending.

Day 19 - Favorite Supporting Character or NPC: Larsa Despite being younger than Vaan and Penelo, Larsa is one of the most mature and responsible characters in the series. He's the solution to nearly every problem in XII's Ivalice and everyone on all sides of the conflict seems to know it too.

Day 18 - Fav Sequel/Spinoff/Remake: Dissidia Final Fantasy 012 [duodecim] This game does an amazing job of blending RPG mechanics with fanservice to create a truly unique fighter that STILL HAS NO REMASTER OR PROPER SEQUEL WHAT ARE WE DOING SQUARE ENIX.

Day 17 - Favorite Soundtrack: IX VIII and XIV are extremely close runners-up at this point but what has IX edge them out for me (beyond nostalgia, which is admittedly a factor) is the character themes. Every single character theme in IX's OST tells you exactly who the character is.

Today I hit the perfect level of caffeination to reach an epiphany about the Drawing Room puzzle in Blue Prince. I was literally out at lunch in a restaurant and was like "OH MY GOD." I will be riding this high for weeks.

Day 16 - Favorite Summon/Spell I hope this isn't cheating... Specific version of a summon: Shiva (FFX). The slayingest queen of all time. Summon overall: Alexander. Love the idea of a laser robot angel castle. Spell: Scathe (FFXII). Gigantic laser and a satisfying sound.

First time playing Blood of Rondo, it is really fun! Definitely had to learn how to play properly 😅 Maria has such a cute moveset!

Day 15 - Favorite Boss Fight: Yunalesca X has great boss fights in general but this one specifically is a three-phase monstrosity that really tests your ability to strategize and balance when to heal or not. I just wish you could skip the cutscene and mayyybe someone could get her some clothes. 🥲

Day 14 - Favorite Summoner: Rydia I was torn between her and Yuna but while I like Yuna as a character more, Rydia I think I like more as a summoner specifically. She's the OG named summoner in the series and IV's narrative of redemption just wouldn't work without her there to forgive.

Overall not wildly mad about Drag Race judging tonight, though I definitely would have picked a different winner and bottom 2 personallyyyy. RDR Live remains my least favorite challenge until they get some decent sketch writers.

Day 3 on Moongleam! I forgot the Nook's Cranny doesn't have an initial construction period, so I am now beholden to shop hours for selling. 😔

Day 13 - Favorite Black Mage: Vivi There are many cool black mages in FF but there is just no other possible answer. I'm convinced anyone who says otherwise never beat IX or is just a contrarian. Not only the best black mage and the best FF character, but one of the best characters ever period.

Day 2 on Moongleam and the Switch 2 update is out now! I'll need to give the mouse controls a try. My Nook Shopping orders came in so I dropped the nightgown in favor of something more practical to meet Gulliver. You can craft from your storage ANYWHERE on the island now, not just at home? 🤯

Day 12 - Favorite White Mage: Minwu The first named white mage and I think the only canon male white mage party member from a mainline FF unless you count Hope. His design is some of Amano's best work, he's a powerhouse in and out of battle, and he has one of the series' first iconic moments.

Restarting my Animal Crossing New Horizons island over and over until my plaza is in the perfect location and I love both my villagers like an insane person.

Day 11 - Favorite Dragoon: Fang Love everything about our butch queen Fang! Her design, her voice, her devotion to Vanille, her animations, her directness, and her strength. Fantastic character in a game full of characters I mostly didn't like, and a perfect foil for Lightning.

Forgot to post my overall top played games! That Animal Crossing time is about to go up even further when 3.0 releases and I restart my island for the thousandth time. 🫣

Day 10 - Favorite Job/Class Red Mage! ✅️ Versatile ✅️ Fashionable ✅️ Red

Day 9 - Favorite Battle System: XII I love gambits so much and I love the evolution of ATB into ADB, allowing for a more seamless combat experience. VII Rebirth is a close runner-up though!

Anyone else absolutely dread getting their hair cut every time? It's like a combination of all my least favorite things: sitting still, socializing, being touched, looking at myself and acknowledging my appearance. 😖 Trying to restore my gay powers today but it's like torture to me.

Day 8 - Favorite Cutscene: Bahamut vs. Alexander (IX) I'm willing to accept this might be nostalgia, but I genuinely think this cutscene is the best of all time? Just a really cool light show between two iconic, devastating summons at the end of a climactic, emotional story beat.

Day 7 - Favorite Job System: X-2 Look, I'm gay so you know I love magical girl transformations and dress-up. But beyond that, the dressphere system is quite deep when you factor in garment grids that alter your stats/abilities as you job change, and accessories that let you use other jobs' skills.

Day 6 - Worst NPC: Lunafreya This girl is a glorified plot device. The only characterization she ever gets is in the movie because of course XV expects you to ingest every form of media for things to almost make sense. And the only meaningful thing she accomplishes in game is... well, you know.

Day 5 - Favorite Villain: Kuja I mentioned its theme the other day, but FFIX is a game all about existentialism. What is the meaning of life when death is inevitable? Kuja is the ideal villain for this story because he grapples with this as much as the party and reaches an opposite conclusion.

Day 4 - Fav Protagonist: Yuna Picking from main protags but considering her character across X/X-2: her quiet strength and steely resolve, and her willingness to shoulder burden for the sake of others. People meme on "I don't like your plan. It sucks," in X-2 but it's so representative of her arc.

Day 3 - Worst Final Fantasy: XV Large empty world, braindead combat, tedious sidequests, story events broken out blatantly to sell as DLC, paper-thin party characters, disrespectful to its female characters, important (but still bad) plot told via multimedia nonsense... Worst mainline at least. 😬

Day 2 - Favorite Final Fantasy: IX It begins. 🫣 No other FF carries its theme throughout the entire experience like IX, and few other games at all do. That always stuck with me. It's not a perfect game, but it's a perfect Final Fantasy.
