I never should've stopped my education at an associates degree. I should've gotten a bachelor's or a master's. I never should've stopped after one degree. I pretty much fucked myself by doing that.

I wish it wasnt so hard for me to just get a job that i can live off of. I have basically moved heaven and earth to do all kinds of screenings, hiring manager interviews, corporate event days, like i don't understand how only the lowest of offers and opportunities are what i get.

It's strange to me that we tell children as they grow up to work hard, and they can be anything. I worked hard. I gave eight years of my life to a career job. Now I get canned rejection emails for that career I gave my life to. It makes me wonder if I really did that job, or was I hallucinating?

I'll keep trying and just hope my self study into Selenium can count for something later. Even if it becomes an obsolete skill. I don't care, I'll still do it.

It's just stopped feeling worth the effort to acknowledge i had a career. Maybe it's better i pretend I never had that and dont have a college degree. Maybe that's how I need to proceed into the future. Pretend I'm uneducated.

I don't believe I'm ever going to work in IT ever again, really. I can apply all I want but I'm the odd one out. Out of everyone I know affected by 2020s layoffs, I've been the most severely impacted. Others got their careers back within 6 months or less. It doesn't feel too fair.

Months ago a colleague told me to apply to his company to do a junior developer training program. Yesterday I got a rejection email for "not having enough experience". How does working in QA for the same agile process for 8 years not count? This is why I no longer give loyalty to companies.
