Genuine question: what is the purpose of a WiFi password at a conference of, say, 60k people? What is the password actually protecting? Why not just open the network up for ease of access? No one is doing sensitive work over bare http anymore.

You should just assume that anything you publish online will get scooped up for training AI at this point. Just come to terms with it and act accordingly. Yes, even when the platform promises it won't be, *especially* when that platform is an open & decentralized social network.
