I created Personal Cloud Backup: github.com/juliangruber... A collection of scripts for periodically backing up your cloud accounts (Google, GitHub, etc) to archival storage. When you don't own your data, at least keep it safe!

My emails are now being backed up from Hetzner to Scaleway cold storage, using offlineimap, rclone and cron. Feels good to have backups for most of my online accounts! Other things that get backed up weekly: Webspace, calendars, databases, GitHub repos, backup scripts, Google Drive.

talenzz.io was a crowd funding platform for music, where funders received royalty shares. They disappeared without notifying their funders (like me). Smells like scam or rug pull, but was supported by legit projects (Backstage Pro, supported by Thomann). www.backstagepro.de/document/dl/...

What are your current takes on content creation on the internet, requiring attention / ad watch time for compensation, vs AI agentic traffic, that doesn't reward the creator? Is AI traffic finaly guiding us away from ads business models?

When the wrong company is down, the internet is down. I suggest we move off tech giants, to protect what's most valuable to us.
