Today Colin Gilham and I ran a tasting of @elusivebrewing.com x @unbarredbrewery.bsky.social x Lallemand Brewing Experiments in Yeast at Two Tails Taproom. Four beers brewed with the same base recipe, but each pitched with a different yeast. It was a great deal of fun, and very interesting.

A couple more beers at Anspach & Hobday and a cracking pretzel!

Getting my Oktoberfest practice in for next week’s trip to Munich with an Oktoberfest afternoon in Croydon at Anspach & Hobday I’ve started with the Festbier, of course, and a Rindwurt from Bavarian Boy.

The end of another week. They seem to roll around so quickly these days. A swift visit to Hop Stop for two beers before the cinema. Starting with an Amber Festbier from Pohjala, then on to a gorgeous NEIPA from Beak.

Had a chat with Jamie & Chris of ThirtyFifty this eve - about Beer Education. It’s going to be a very interesting conversation for you to listen to on the next episode. We had a little tasting too, with beers from Gravity Well, Pastore and Anspach & Hobday.

This was a lovely beer from @thornbridge, using their Union set. They’ve put it to such good use since it was “retired” by CMBC.

I went to London today to watch Just For One Day - the Live Aid Musical (outstanding!) and had a few beers at Craft Beer Co beforehand. Two gorgeous brews from @unbarredbrewery.bsky.social and a banger from @kernelbrewery.bsky.social.

I worked a Gala Dinner for 350 people on Saturday night in Dubrovnik, and was amazed to see them serve two craft beers, from Pivovara Medvedgrad and Zmajska Pivovara So between my night out, my supermarket beers, and the dinner, I ended up trying beers from 6 different Croatian breweries!

Back from working in Dubrovnik. Was too busy for beers except Thursday eve when I visited a couple of places in the Old Town. However, I did get a couple of beers from Croatian breweries Garden Brewery and Saperlot, which I enjoyed in my room watching Severance.

I’m in Dubrovnik for work, and things are about to get very busy from tomorrow, so this evening I have come into the Old Town to visit Glam Bar and Beer Factory Dubrovnik for a couple of beers from local breweries Maskeron and Brewville.

Friday post-work visit to Hop Stop. Started with a collab between Cool Head and Sand City. Then I completed the set of the @verdantbrew.bsky.social Little Summer Beer Bash beers, with No. 4 in collaboration with Green Cheek. What a pair of great beers!

There’s a great summer evening vibe at Sambrook’s Brew Taproom. Even if it’s not a hot night, the outdoors is full of people having a great evening. On my way back to the station, and after a lovely Mexican dinner, I stopped for a half of Two Flints Brewery’s Deep Diving at Clapton Craft, Clapham.

Last time I was here at Sambrook’s Brewery was to interview John Hatch for the podcast. It was a Monday and the place was closed and empty. It’s very busy tonight, which is great. I’ve had one of John’s Ram Brewery beers - Double Deal - and a Sambrook’s brew, Stratus. Both great!

From lagers to IPAs, and I’ve gone for a West Coast first, from @missinglinkbrewing.bsky.social. Exactly what I look for in a Westie - piny, resinous, very bitter, and really drinkable. Next up, a lovely hazy from @indierabble.bsky.social’s core range, Mantle. Perfect hazy - soft, pillowy, citrusy.

Started off with a couple of lagers this evening, beginning with St Bernardus Kombine - their first ever lager. A very malty effort, which was lovely. Next up, a lager from @indierabble.bsky.social - a beautiful, crisp beer, full of flavour. Two different - but equally delicious - beers.

Today at Hop Stop was all about the @verdantbrew.bsky.social Little Summer Beer Bash beers. I had the first 3, with collaborating breweries Uchu Brewing, Finback Brewery, Bale Breaker, Stoup Brewing & Garage Project. I didn’t have #4 but did have a sneaky taste. All four were stunning.

This evening I paid a visit to The Queens Arms, Battersea, to record the next episode with Jakub of Bohem Brewery. Great chat with some lovely beers, and a demonstration of the different “Czech pours” from their Lukr taps. 1/2

Tonight’s “bring-your-own-beer-and-glass-to-the-cinema” was the new @indierabble.bsky.social Indie Pils, which was gorgeous!

A lovely surf and turf dinner at Wright Bros #Battersea accompanied by a half of Harbour Brewing Arctic Sky.

While my family shopped at Battersea Power Station shopping centre, I took the opportunity to have a couple of beers at Battersea Brewery, and added a third when they joined me there!

Even though I’m still in Italy, this evening I had four exceptional beers from the US - Odell Brewing from Colorado.

A really good gluten free lager from Theresianer - a brewery from the north of Italy.

Finished off the Petrognola box with a Witbier, a Tripel, and a Porter. 12 beers - all excellent, all different.

I started on the Odell Brewing beers that my friend lovingly ferried over to Italy from Colorado, while watching football. As expected, these are next level great! Supreme in every respect.

A couple more Petrognola beers with lunch. Plus… a friend of ours who lives near to us in Italy just came back from Colorado and brought me back some Odell Brewing beers!

We’re home from the medieval festival and had a couple more Petrognola beers - Metra, an IPA; and Sandy, a strong red ale. Both lovely. Here are the photos of the beers as well as a couple of the birds at the medieval festival.

We visited the medieval festival in Filetto this evening, and it was great to find an artisanal brewery, called Owski, selling their wares. I had their Red Ale, which was very tasty and my son went for the NEIPA, which he enjoyed.

Started on my 12-pack of Petrognola beers this evening with Sassorosso, Intoleranza Zero, and a smoky chestnut beer Marron. All of which were great.

A great visit up to a tiny village called Ugliancaldo, home of the nano brewery Birrificio Ugliancaldo. We toured their small site, then sat down for some tastings accompanied by Tagliere (cheese, cured meats, etc). First pictures - their 400L kit and 3 FVs. 1/3

Finally visited Birrificio Petrognola today after many years drinking their beers. Had a look at the kit, but couldn’t go inside as they were cleaning with caustic. Single bottles not sold, so I had to get a mixed 12 pack (of all of their beers) to take away!

Strong Dark Mild - great beer from @thornbridge.bsky.social & Garrett Oliver. Head retention all the way down too. Then to the cinema for the new @nakedgunmovie.bsky.social and naturally I took my own beer - @northernmonk.bsky.social x @adnamssouthwold.bsky.social Ghost Faith. Happy Yorkshire Day!

My cinema beer tonight was this classic from @bridscrossbrew.bsky.social! The movie was Bring Her Back - scary and unsettling, but great!
