$30mil budget for a $10mil worldwide opening weekend in a subgenre that has never been popular (US-based adult-skewing animated action film) is a worthwhile knock to secure the film rights to Middle Earth and make some theatrical profits on a project that seemed bound to be dumped on streaming.

Immediate must buy

Solidly made action flick with a good amount of blood sprinkled in. Didn't drag at all for me and unlike MW or Morbius, gives substantial time to characterizing Kraven. The ire over this is of course overblown and more grandstand whining, Marvel is never getting the rights and that's a good thing!

Preparing you all now that this all falls under the SSU, there will obviously be a followup to Venom 3’s story in Holland’s Spider-Man films, there’s still Spider-Verse 3, Spider-Noir will be HUGE, and Agent Venom and Sinister Six films will be out by the end of Holland’s next trilogy by 2030 🤷‍♂️

Shoutout to the dad and daughter who happened to be at GameStop looking for Left 4 Dead 2 while I was trading in my old copy, was told GS won't take it as the disc isn't spotless, and then offered to buy it off of me for more than GS would have given me anyway

Rewatched Nightcrawler for the first time since theaters and was swiftly reminded that yeah it’s a perfect movie

In 1976 Siskel looked like a cop on the edge and Ebert looked like his boss who was telling him he was over the line and a loose canon.

Genuinely curious how this will do as an anime Lord of the Rings, Sonic 3, and Mufasa are very different audiences from what this is trying to attract. It’s the one genuine action film for the month that’s not targeting families. The reported budget is the big problem really.

Sad to report that I am that one guy you know who likes King Kong Lives. It’s goofy, its setup is ludicrous even for Kong, and it drags ass at times but it’s big dumb fun ape stuff which is something I thought the previous film was greatly lacking in. Kong fucks!
