PSA: Bluesky's new auto-tagging moderation stuff is a disaster. Disable it. Go into Settings on the Bluesky site and enable adult content and set everything to Warn at most, which makes posts opt-in. Hide just vanishes posts. Then go into Advanced/Bluesky Mod Service and do the same on everything.

I really recommend reading this post if you wanna understand better what the new Bluesky update does, and why it affects long-time users and artists in general. And also, if you disapprove of this update, send an email to [email protected] explaining your dissatisfaction with this update. +

I highly recommend everyone send an email to Bluesky Moderation to reconsider rolling out this label out or at the very least tweaking it to add the two suggestions I provided above. @henrick.thebull.app has an example of what he sent to them on his account moderation@/blueskyweb.xyz

I just think it's absolutely weird for the Bluesky devs (yet unsurprising of them) to punish users for using the tools they literally provide to them such as those content labels Why would someone label their posts as "adult" when Bluesky could essentially censor them anyway with no recourse?

But wait, there's more and it makes this new label worse than I thought. Even if you enable adult content & have the filter on "show", it still hides the account under a content warning (or hides it completely in countries like the UK) bsky.app/profile/deen...

To @bsky.app & @support.bsky.team, we already have tools available that help users filter out adult content if they don't want to see them. Plus, there's user-made blocklists on here people can use if they don't want to see accounts with adult content in them Maybe inform users about these tools?

To make matters worse, one of the users hit with these warnings apparently had the label removed from their account, but his profile is still censored despite the fact neither his avatar nor his banner contain NSFW in them. Something is amiss

This new Bluesky label leaves users who only want to see SFW posts from someone who may post tagged content on occasion with no way to see their posts other than seeing all their posts including labeled content To put it simply, users hit with this content warning are NERF'd. It's all or nothing

The new label was placed on some accounts lately. I don't see how this feature helps anyone other than discourage users from putting content labels on their adult posts as they have & should've done for the past few years which filters their NSFW posts from their SFW posts bsky.app/profile/loos...

I'll say what Bluesky fails to address in v1.122 They've rolled out a new "adult content" tag applied on an entire account, hiding all their posts from users, including text posts, even if they may be SFW This update, while well-intentioned, defeats the whole purpose of the content filters system

Another update with pointless changes and awful additions (the new image system and profile labeler, ew). Thanks for nothing, @bsky.app.
