I think it's time to start a new sketchbook for the projects I'm working on, a sort of story-bible where I can keep all the different sketches, notes, and designs for a given project in one (non-digital) place. I don't know how long I'll keep it, but it's an idea I want to start this week.

I want to reframe "failure" as not failure, but rather "experimentation." The process is about iterating, building intuition, learning what works and what doesn't work, in order to finally achieve, not "success," but "progress," the key to moving forward. #thinkingthoughts 🧵

Trying a new thing today: At 4p when I'm done work, I'm turning off ALL my computers and devices, and going to rest from the workday for a bit. Come back at 5, to start music practice, and then at 7p turn my computer back on for stream. We'll see how it goes.

Finally laying down some lines for issue 2 right now and as much as I want this to be a slow story, I recognize that part of comics writing is ensuring that ever scene is filled with some conflict, drama or action. #makingcomics 🧵

I am deeply disinterested in every popular franchise or storyline having a "cinematic universe." Can we just tell good stories with reach? Can that be it? I mean, I know the Capitalism-box answer, but I'm still asking.

Caught up on background flats from this week, so tonight I'm ready to go into character flats breakdowns and setting the light color. It felt good finally getting work down without streaming it!

Was there ever a time when artists and musicians were "making bank" on their music alone? Thinking total album sales, radio play, and even streaming, but not including concert sales and live appearances?

Starting work on holiday flute pieces with The Christmas Song! It's written in a high octave and I just don't think the piece calls for that, so I'm dropping it into a lower octave.
