After an hour, LGBT+ Labour committee members finally decided to turn up to their own social. The incompetence is worrying.

In one hour from now, #LGBTLabour was due to have their AGM. Instead, they decided to deny members the choice of who they want to lead the fight for equality, solidarity, and justice. They have questions to answer. The @transalliance.bsky.social will continue this fight.

In an hour, the LGBT+ Labour committee becomes illegitimate. Members have been denied a vote, and @transalliance.bsky.social candidates denied the chance to participate. This isn’t democracy. It’s a shutdown of accountability.

I am no longer the LGBT+ Officer for Preston Constituency Labour Party. There are no malicious actors here, just unfortunate timings on my own finances causing my membership to temporarily enter arrears. I wish the next LGBT Officer luck, they'll need it.

Doing my bit

Today I will be asking the following question at Preston City Council: "As a trans resident, I am raising this question during Pride Month in light of increasing public hostility toward trans people including online, in politics, and in local communities. (1/2)

This rebellion has given me hope for the future of the Labour Party, a hope I haven't felt in years. We can have a socialist party in the UK that truly cares about the worker, not the wealthy - this is why I have stayed in the Labour party. The fiery heart of UK Labour is back.

If this Welfare Bill passes, the party dies. If it falls, it dies with dignity.

I would like to offer a public clarification because some rumours have been spread about my @prideinlabour.bsky.social friends wrongly. When they went through the Downing Street gate and I waited there, I was not abandoned by them, I told them to go. The cause was more important.

On the 10th of June, we handed in our petition to #DowningStreet and #KeirStarmer. We received so many powerful stories and comments – and we wanted to share some of them with you. (1/8)
