This is true. Even more, sanctuary laws still permit local police to pass intelligence to non-immigration feds, who then share it with ICE. Or, as we are seeing so often right now, to run counterprotest operations that serve the federal interest first. Our post-9/11 world is full of workarounds.

Today, SCOTUS put a hold on the 8th Circuit's terrible decision in the Turtle Mountain case, which held that private plaintiffs can't sue under Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act. This is good news. It revives the VRA at least temporarily while SCOTUS considers whether to take the case.
