I put 11,455 miles on my car in one year. Assuming a car got 26 MPG and the TN Gas Tax is 27.4 cents per gallon, I would’ve paid $120 in gas taxes. Since I have an EV, my contribution to the highway trust fund is $200. Dang. It goes to $274 next year.

I’m watching the Winter Storm Response Commission meeting and 45 minutes into the meeting they are micromanaging how staff should compile emails and asking if this meeting will be recorded for the public (as they were literally being live streamed). I have such high hopes. 🤦🏻‍♂️

Meanwhile, Gov. Lee is proposing just $20 million STATEWIDE for public school construction grants. For context: it costs far more than $20 million to build ONE elementary school.

There’s so much to be frustrated and stressed about, but I have to admit that I am looking forward to watching Punxsutawney Phil tomorrow. I know I’m weird for this, but Groundhog Day is one of my favorite holidays.

Our community is dealing with the devastation of an unprecedented winter ice storm that has left more than 200,000 people without power & no heat yet this is the crap that our local Fox affiliate that is owned by Sinclair Broadcast is posting online. And y'all wonder why "I don't talk to Sinclair?"

So a Democratic TN legislator just came on stage at this Indigo Girls & Melissa Etheridge concert and somehow failed to remind this large audience there is a special election for Congress happening RIGHT NOW. Can’t say I’m surprised.

The backdrop for the Indigo Girls tonight at the Ryman is incredible.

Started the day bright & early at Gateway Elementary for Walk to School Day and ended the day with Goodlettsville & Madison Middle Schools for the Orange & Blue Bowl hosted by Hunters Lane HS on their new turf field.

Tell me why a councilmember would show up to “Walk to School Day” at an elementary school wearing a t shirt with big bold writing saying “I VOTED NO ON THE TAX INCREASE.” The same tax increase that helped make a historic investment into schools like the one the CM was standing in front of.

The Rapture took the Goodlettsville Krystal’s this evening.

Six hours. One driveway. One patio. And the most unexpectedly calming therapy session I’ve had in a while: pressure washing.
