So a Democratic TN legislator just came on stage at this Indigo Girls & Melissa Etheridge concert and somehow failed to remind this large audience there is a special election for Congress happening RIGHT NOW. Can’t say I’m surprised.

The backdrop for the Indigo Girls tonight at the Ryman is incredible.

Started the day bright & early at Gateway Elementary for Walk to School Day and ended the day with Goodlettsville & Madison Middle Schools for the Orange & Blue Bowl hosted by Hunters Lane HS on their new turf field.

Tell me why a councilmember would show up to “Walk to School Day” at an elementary school wearing a t shirt with big bold writing saying “I VOTED NO ON THE TAX INCREASE.” The same tax increase that helped make a historic investment into schools like the one the CM was standing in front of.

The Rapture took the Goodlettsville Krystal’s this evening.

Six hours. One driveway. One patio. And the most unexpectedly calming therapy session I’ve had in a while: pressure washing.

It was a YIMBY kind of morning here in Goodlettsville as we celebrated the grand opening of Stone Bridge Lofts. 311 affordable units at 60% AMI and featuring some retail space fronting Main Street. So proud to have played a small role in helping identity this site & secure entitlements. 😁

In other news, future First Husband Chasten Buttigieg was in town this evening on the book tour for his new children’s book. He’s so darn friendly!!

I want to take the bus to the courthouse for Thursday’s council budget committee hearing but it will more than double my travel time one way.. and still require me to drive nearly two miles to get to the transit stop. Happy for the CHYM committee to get to work!

On May Day, we honor the sacrifices workers make to support their families. As someone raised in a second-gen UAW home, I’m thankful for the 8-hour workday—it gave my dad and granddad time to earn a living and be present. To our MNPS staff: I see you, and I’m fighting for the pay you deserve.
