I will never get over this

I’ve just restocked both sizes of my Watership Down quote print 🖤🌞 it always makes me happy seeing how much people seem to love this design 🐇 I'm currently re-reading the book for the first time in years

had a surreal couple of days in perpetually dark Longyearbyen, Svalbard, where we avoided polar bears, saw the northernmost church in the world, most northernly cemetery (where bodies don’t decompose due to permafrost & it’s now illegal to be buried there), & were blessed by more northern lights ❄️🐻‍❄️⛪️

made it to Longyearbyen, Svalbard (where it’s dark 24 hours a day at this time of year) and had a pint and a vegan pizza at the most northernly pub on the planet 🌠🍻

photos of the aurora borealis we saw, the beauty was incomprehensible, I felt so small

last night : seeing the northern lights when they were this strong and visible (you could see all the shimmering and dancing with the naked eye, it was just a bit less colour saturated) was like nothing I’ve ever experienced before. utterly humbling and astonishing near Tromsø, Norway

it’s so achingly beautiful here - we’re so far north that the sun doesn’t actually rise over the mountains at this time of year so you get a few hours of this pastel sunrise light without seeing the sun itself and then it gets dark again (photos taken between Tromsø and Skjervøy)

Official counts confirm 485 fledglings were taken from cliffs and slaughtered.

so thrilled to see a willow tit - the UK’s most threatened resident bird species - yesterday at Pennington Flash. the rain was so heavy that a lot of the reserve was flooded and it would have been so easy to stay home but instead it was one of the most special bird moments of the year for me :’)

my friend Maria made a truly amazing Merry Friendmas dinner for us all last night - the most beautiful cheese board spread, chestnut soup topped with orange zest (from her grandma’s handwritten recipe), excellent roast with mushroom wellington as the centre piece 🧑‍🎄 (all vegan)
