New in PNAS: we recreated blazar pair cascades in the lab. Using CERN’s Super Proton Synchrotron, we produced dense electron–positron beams and sent them through plasma to test whether beam instabilities can disrupt them, they can’t. @ox.ac.uk @cern.bsky.social @golp-ist.bsky.social
