There are coyotes, and there is Coyote…

Humans kill about half a million coyotes are killed each year. That’s about one dead coyote a minute. And yet, we sing in their backyards, as though we’re taunting them. Making a statement that despite the ruthless prosecutions, we as a whole are still enjoying life.

When the time comes when you can’t hear the songs of the coyote, the West is going to seem a mighty dull place.

Take pleasure in being alive.

A coyote trots along a trail with a sprig of sagebrush in its mouth. At repeated intervals it had tossed the sprig joyously into the air, caught it, then trotted on. How can one hate an animal that took that kind of pleasure in being alive in the world?

If you don’t live by your values, you will end up living a life of an imagined individual, who you thought could earn the love of your peers better than your true self.

I remember it just like it was yesterday when the humans collectively trapped us, gunned us down, poisoned us, used biological warfare against us… It left them scratching their heads as to why our populations couldn’t be thinned out. Haha Worked for wolves! Why not these scrawnier canids? Hehehe

Coyotes do not have a religion. Existence is the sacred worship we practice every day. So survive, persevere, and if you can, thrive under whatever oppression the world throws at you.

When you encounter a black cat, it is bad luck. When you encounter a crane, it is good luck. When you encounter a coyote, it is random luck. Something is definitely going to happen, but who knows what. Maybe you slip on a banana peel; maybe your friend gives you a free banana. Who knows.

Tonight is Wolf Moon... Why do they get to have their name on a full moon cycle? All they do is howl at it all year long. I guess if you give something enough attention, they eventually recognize you. That's not a great lesson.

Coyotes have a smile on their face even when we’re sad. Because sometimes, that’s what it takes to survive.

Affirmation Coyote heard a song called "It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year" and they are very puzzled because the most wonderful time of the year is when you or your mate are in estrous. Just not understanding the attraction of this jingle bell mistletoe ho-ho-ho stuff. Just doesn't compare.
