What's clear from talking to our Children and Families Team is that their role isn't just about helping children, it's about working with and supporting parents too. From running courses that provide practical tools for everyday life, to being a trusted source of advice and a shoulder to cry on...

Nearly two-thirds of UK adults lack confidence, according to a recent study by Arden University. The impact can be significant. A lack of confidence means that we can struggle with setbacks, not be able to stand up for ourselves, and be afraid to try new things or meet new people.

A new @who.int report on health equity has highlighted the role that organisations can play in giving voice to communities. GL11 Community Hub champions this approach; we believe when people feel safe, connected, and valued, they don't just change their communities, they change the system itself.

Most of the things that affect our health don't require a doctor to fix them. We can get sick due to loneliness, bad housing, debt, stress, and more. It's #SocialPrescribingDay, a celebration of the activities outside of the GP surgery that can make a huge difference to our health and wellbeing.

At GL11 Community Hub we believe that real change happens when we work together. That’s as much true of our staff team as it is of our community. And so last week we closed the building for a day and headed out as a team to strengthen our relationships, reflect on our journey, and have some fun!
