#knitsky #fylgja My first ever use of a lateral braid in knitting. It’s very tedious and very slow because it’s persnickity AF. I spent an afternoon learning it on scrap yarn & big needles. It now takes about 1 minute per stitch to form so this row is about 7 hours to knit. Wish I had lace points

#knitsky My weekly progress of Fylgja — Norwegian Spirit Animal cardigan. I’ve finished the blue band and spent today learning how to do an Estonian braid. It was challenging but I’ve come through it. I’m looking forward to get into that so I can start on the actual charts.

#knitsky A week’s progress on my 2026 challenge project — Fylgja. It’s going to be slow progress because each row is 401 stitches which means I’m not keen on ripping back to deal with a mistake. Especially if it’s a few rows back. Lots of stitch counting in my future

#knitsky Monies —I spent weeks and weeks crawling into the knitting basket, sleeping on projects, trying to get the correct ratio of cat fur to wool established. And then YOU destroyed all my labour by blocking it. Now I have to start all over AGAIN!!

#knitsky. It’s been off the needles for 2 weeks but I finally got around to blocking it. Moonlight tee done in Candide size 2 X. I added more body length and an additional repeat of one lace chart at the sleeves . I’m too old for crop tops and I want sleeves that hide the bat wings

#knitsky. As a severely visually impaired person, counting stitches on the gauge swatch was always a difficult task. Today I finally figured out to flip the swatch over and count purl bumps instead of V knit stitches. So much better!! Passing it on if it can help others

Third time’s the charm?? Had to rip out and re-cast on the Flax sweater. This time the boo-boo was getting the initial cast on twisted when I joined it in the round. I know I’ve made every error there is to make knitting, but usually not all in the same project! #knitsky

Arrgh! Insert your fave cusses here. ripped out the Flax sweater to start over. I didn’t like how the shoulders were coming together and there was a big patterning mistake that was front and bloody centre. Tried fixing twice so now it’s *+ck this and cast on again weep with me, #knitsky.

Feeling sad as I stash the last order of US yarn for the foreseeable future. I hate this moment. I’ve always supported smallish suppliers, American and Canadian. I never want to hurt my neighbours particularly the “little guys”. Yet here we are.This sucks. It just hurts my heart. #knitsky
