There seems to be wilful ignorance as to what the Stop Killing Games petition is aiming for, and it's not to force active support games for eternity. It's for future games to account for end-of-life transitions, peer-to-peer options, and to not lock SP content behind internet.

Turns out much of the Switch 2 pre-release concern was just miscommunication - Switch 2 is fully playable from the go without an internet connection - Switch 2 Edition games are SW2 branded red carts that include BOTH the SW1 and SW2 native builds on them and work on both consoles!
